Tattoo by Loreen is the Swedish entry for Eurovision 2023. According to a lot of people’s Eurovision betting tips, it is favourite to win by a mile. In fact, our Eurovision odds have this at 3/4 to win the tournament overall.
Loreen’s catchy tune has orchestral elements and is a very popular pick among early punters. Eurovision odds are rarely so short, which shows what people have thought of the early performances.
Käärijä from Finland is entering with another catchy tune called “Cha Cha Cha”. This song incorporates elements of several different genres, something that can do very well in Eurovision.
Käärijä said: “Finland is a party country, a heavy metal country, and a pop-country – this song brings all of those together.”
The odds are currently 13/5 for Finland to win Eurovision.
The Ukrainian entry is “Heart of Steel '' performed by Tvorchi, an electronic duo who won a competition in Kyiv to represent their country in the tournament. This is a song about nuclear warfare, and we know what the reigning champions of Ukraine have been going through, so it is bound to tug at the heartstrings. The song is 15/2 to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.
This is a song that the Norwegians have a lot of hope for. "Queen of Kings” is their entry, performed by Norwegian-Italian singer Alessandra Mele. The song faced stiff competition but won the Melodi Grand Prix 2023, Norway's national final for 2023’s Eurovision Song Contest.
The song was released earlier in the year and hit number one on the Norwegian charts. It currently has odds of 13/1.
"Unicorn" is the entry for Israel, performed by Israeli singer Noa Kirel, with lyrics in both English and Hebrew. Despite being so young, Kirel has already been a judge on Israel’s Got Talent and has been active since 2015. The entry is 28/1 at the moment and could spring a surprise.
Some Eurovision betting tips have Spain as an underrated song for this year. "Eaea" was performed by Blanca Paloma and won the Spanish vote for their Eurovision entry. The song incorporates a lot of flamenco elements and is unmistakable as a Spanish entry. It is also an ode to the singer’s late grandmother. The odds are 23/2 at the moment.
"We Are One" will be the Irish entry. It is a song by the Irish band Wild Youth with an upbeat, pop sound and lyrics about determination and unity. The Eurosong 2023 event where the Irish entry was decided was a resounding success for the band, where they scored 34 points from a possible 36.
The song hit number 93 on the Irish Singles Chart, but after the contest, who knows what could happen? The current odds are 325/1, so it is fair to call this an outsider. It wouldn’t be the first time that an outsider has done well, and you may want to bet on this one to finish in the top three or top five if you don’t think it will win the contest outright.
Based on the Eurovision betting odds, you can see some clear favourites, including last year’s winner Ukraine and the popular Swedish entry Tattoo.
Tattoo has been very widely acclaimed, and Sweden has a very rich history in the competition, so it would be no surprise if this song does as well as many of the Eurovision tips think it will. The powerful and catchy song builds to a crescendo and has the feel of a track that might do well, but who knows in this tournament?
Interestingly, Ireland’s entry is at such long odds, but they could always spring a surprise if they get a bit of luck. They’ve had a great history in the contest, and the song sticks in your head, even if it doesn’t have the most original feel of all the entries.
Eurovision can be unpredictable, that is something that we can certainly say about the competition. There have been shock winners before, and you never know, there could be again.
