Shay Says - Episode 9

Welcome to Shay Says, the latest football betting blog from LeoVegas’ Irish ambassador, Shay Given.

This week, the Republic of Ireland and Premier League legend previews three more games from the Premier League this week.

Let’s see what Shay Says!

Crystal Palace v Manchester City

Palace are definitely not safe yet. The sooner they pick up a few more victories so they can relax for the final few weeks of the season, the better.

Having said that, I don’t think they’ll be involved in a deep relegation fight – they’ve got enough quality to stay above that.

Facing Manchester City on Saturday will be another tough game, but I think they’ll have enough to pull away from the danger zone with a solid month to spare.

Manchester City got a great result against Newcastle last weekend, it was comfortable enough in the end.

They were likely dealt a psychological blow by Arsenal winning so late against Bournemouth later in the day, but they just need to focus on their own job and put the pressure on Arsenal as much as they can.

Obviously, there’s that huge game at the end of April when Arsenal visit the Etihad, but City just need to take care of their own business and secure maximum points until that time.

I think City will have too much for them, so I’m going for a 3-1 win, with Jack Grealish and Eberechi Eze getting on the scoresheet.

SHAY SAYS: CRYSTAL PALACE 1-3 MANCHESTER CITY

Fulham v Arsenal

Fulham are having an unbelievable season – people wouldn’t have believed you if you told them they’d would be in the top eight before the season started. Everybody thought a good year for them would just be staying up.

The job Marco Silva has done has been amazing. They were unlucky against Brentford on Monday – I thought the penalty that was given against them was a little bit harsh. They could have easily drawn that game.

Arsenal are also flying at the moment – that late goal against Bournemouth will give them confidence coming into this one.

It’ll be a tricky fixture for them at Craven Cottage; there will be moments in the match where they’ll need to come strong and show how good of a team they are, but the belief they would have got from that goal last week may make them feel it’s written in the stars for them to win the Premier League.

I think they’ll go to Craven Cottage and beat Fulham; I’m going with 2-1 to Arsenal, with Martin Odegaard and Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring for each side.

SHAY SAYS: FULHAM 1-2 ARSENAL

Newcastle v Wolves

Newcastle are in a bit of a dip – they’ve had too many draws recently and then some defeats against Liverpool and both Manchester clubs, which to be fair are tough games.

This Sunday won’t be an easy game for them, especially as Wolves are on the up after beating Tottenham. Eddie Howe needs to get them winning ugly again and getting the job done.

He’s been very diplomatic when asked about their top four chances this season, but they need three points to get them back on track and find that winning feeling within the camp again.

The teams around them like Fulham and Liverpool are beginning to catch up. I think finishing in the top six, alongside reaching a cup final, is still a brilliant season for them.

I think Newcastle are going to sneak it on Sunday – I’m going to go 1-0 with Alexander Isak to score, I really like him as a player and think he’s due a goal.

SHAY SAYS: NEWCASTLE 1-0 WOLVES
